Au passage du fleuve

By Paul Chanel Malenfant

Éditions du Noroît (in French only)

“A marvellous work with a fitting title, Au passage du fleuve (“as the river flows”) navigates the past, the present and a heightened awareness of the future. The collection intertwines grief and a thirst for life by anchoring our individual experiences to our shared fate. With rich yet precise language, Malenfant is at the peak of his art, paying homage to the people and the land that have shaped him. Above all, he reminds us that writing is an act of love and hope.”

—Peer assessment committee: Chantal Ringuet, Patrick Roy and Ouanessa Younsi
