Who is François Gilbert?

François Gilbert wins his first Governor General’s Literary Award in 2016 with Hare Krishna. A Francization facilitator at the Université du Québec à Montréal since 2003, he is fascinated by Asia. He has visited there several times, and his interest in the continent is reflected in his first two novels. His first novel, Coma (2012), won the Canada-Japan Prize and was a finalist for the Grand Prix littéraire Archambault. His second novel, La maison d’une autre, was on the preliminary list for the Prix des libraires du Québec 2015. For the past 10 years, François Gilbert has also been doing improv with the Ligue d’improvisation montréalaise. He lives in Montreal.
